The start of a new school year is exciting! We’d like to commend our members for a successful start as they work to establish their new routines. Here are some pertinent announcements and reminders for this week:
Friday’s Schedule & Game Info
Date: Friday, August 19, 2022
Location: RHSD3 Stadium (Cherry Rd)
Call Time: 6:30 pm at the stadium
Dress: Summer Uniform
We will dismiss students at 3:45 pm from school. Students need to arrive at RHSD3 Stadium no later than 6:30 pm. Please plan to arrive early, as the first game of the year against our cross-town rival means significant traffic and large crowds. Drop students off on the corner of Chester St., and Stadium St. Do not drop off students on Constitution Blvd. Wind players should have their instruments, folios, and lyres at the stadium.
Please arrange to pick up your student from the stadium at the end of the game (approximately 10:00 pm). If the game extends past 10:00 pm, we will send a REMIND text notifying you of the anticipated delay.
We will meet at the stadium, regardless of inclement weather. If officials cancel the game (or the band’s participation), we will send out a notification via REMIND text, e-mail, and social media.

Season Passes to attend games are available through the NHS Athletic Office.
- Cost: $50.00 for adults, $40.00 for students (band students and chaperones get in free!) Cash or check (payable to Northwestern High School Athletics) are accepted.
- Admission into six regular-season games, a savings of $22!
- Avoid the line – enter through the pass gate!
Shoe & Glove Order Extension
We’ve extended the shoe and glove order deadline through Thursday (August 18) for any last-minute shoe and glove orders. Please click here if you still need to place an order. Remember, percussionists only need to order shoes, and the colorguard members do not need to complete any information on this form.
Course Syllabus & Band Handbook
The deadline to submit the signed Course Syllabus and Handbook Contracts is Friday, August 19. Click here to submit acknowledgment/contract forms.
Chaperones
Sign up here if you want to chaperone at the game next week. Individuals interested in chaperoning at this game and future events must have attended a chaperone training session and have a VERIFIED status with Rock Hill Schools.

Looking Ahead
Rehearsals next week will dismiss at 5:30 pm on Monday and Wednesday, at 6:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and when the bell rings at 3:45 pm on Friday. Students from Rawlinson Road and Dutchman Creek will need to arrive as soon as possible after their dismissal. Students from RRMS should plan to walk over, and DCMS students will need to work out carpools as much as possible.
Lastly, we are just over one week away from our mattress sale. Our goal for this fundraiser is for each family to find one person that might be interested in purchasing a mattress.
- Please invite your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors to the sale. Remind them to mention your student’s name at the checkout desk so your child gets their cash incentive.
- Join and share this Facebook event as “going” or “interested.”
- Additional fliers and hard signs are available in the band room.
