The following are some important announcements for the week of 3/4/2019.
Congratulations to the NHS Jazz Band for their performance at the 2019 SCBDA Jazz Festival at Newberry College. The band performed for a panel of adjudicators and received a superior rating. We extend a special congratulations to NHS band member, Payton Altman, who was recognized as an outstanding soloist and performed in the All-State Jazz Band last weekend.
TWO IMPORTANT EVENTS THIS WEEK
We will have our monthly band booster meeting on Monday, March 4, 2019. The Executive Board will meet at 6:30 PM in the strings room. The general meeting for all band parents will begin at 7:00 PM in the band room. We are kicking off a new fundraiser tonight PLUS reviewing our CWEA event for later this month.
Our Pre-Festival Concert is Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 7:30 PM in the auditorium. Call time for students is 7:00 PM. Dress for Tuesday’s concert is concert black. This performance is a mandatory requirement for all students in the Instrumental Ensemble, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Symphonic Honors courses. The concert will include music currently in preparation for the upcoming SCBDA Concert Performance Assessment on March 26, 2019, at Nation Ford High School.
UPCOMING EVENTS
The NHS Bands are hosting the CWEA Championships at Northwestern High School on Saturday, March 23, 2019. We need student and adult volunteers, in addition to hospitality donations. There is a significant need for help at this event! Click on the links below to sign-up:
