Announcements – Week of 9/18/2025

DO YOU KNOW A CDL SEMI TRUCK DRIVER?

We need a semi driver to transport our band equipment. We have drivers for most of our performances but need to line someone up for our Bands of America Regional performance in Chattanooga, TN October 3-5. We have a truck lined up. Just need a driver.

Know someone? Please let Mr. McGuire know at [email protected]

DAILY PRACTICE

  • Are you seeing your child’s instrument come home each day?
  • Are you hearing your child practice regularly?

If not, your child may need your support. Please remind your child to practice their part at home so when they show up to rehearsal, they are prepared to put their part with the entire group.

Band is a team effort. Every member needs to be able to play their part correctly in order to not let down the rest of the team.

Please support your child by reminding them to bring their instrument home each day so they can practice. We don’t need hours and hours at home each day but we do need consistent effort at home to master individual parts so the entire team can be successful.

REHEARSAL ATTENDANCE

When a student is absent or leaves early:

  • Performers cannot hear the missing part in the music, making it difficult for others to balance and adjust their sound.
  • Drill spots are left empty, which prevents neighbors from learning their correct spacing and alignment.
  • Guard work and visual responsibilities are incomplete, disrupting the flow and impact of the show.

Our students are learning to perform not just as individuals, but as a team. Each rehearsal is an opportunity for everyone to grow together, and each absence slows down that process for the entire group. For this reason, attendance at every rehearsal is not just encouraged—it is expected.

Thank you for helping us build a culture of commitment and excellence. Your support in ensuring your student is present and prepared for every rehearsal makes all the difference.

DUE FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 26

  • Record a video of yourself performing all of Part 2.
  • This assignment is for ALL band students.
  • Submit your assignment through Canvas (do not email).
