Thank you to everyone who attended our pre-festival concert last night! We appreciate your support and hope you will be able to attend the upcoming Jazz Band and Symphonic Band assessments (dates and times below.) Also, thank you to everyone who volunteered during the WGI competition at NHS last weekend! This event was an extremely successful fundraiser for the band because of your dedicated time and energy, and we are extremely grateful for your effort!
Upcoming Dates:
- Saturday, March 5 at 9:15 am, NHS at Jazz Performance Assessment at Newberry College. Admission is free!
- Jazz band students should report to school no later than 6:15 am. See attached itinerary for additional information.
- Saturday, March 5, NHS Winterguard in Mooresville. Performance time is 2:42. Click HERE for ticket information and directions. Itinerary attached for students and parents.
- March 10-13: All-State Band Clinic at Furman University
- Saturday, March 12, NHS Winterguard performance at River Bluff High School
- Monday, March 14, NHS Band Parent Meeting at Northwestern.
- ALL band/guard parents are encouraged to attend!
- Wednesday, March 16 at 2:30 pm, NHS Symphonic Band Concert Performance Assessment at Nation Ford High School. Admission is free!
- Saturday, March 19, NHS Winterguard performance at the CWEA Championships at Byrnes High School

- The cookie dough sale ends MONDAY, MARCH 7th. For information on how to submit your orders, please watch this short video linked HERE
- Students who are traveling with the band to Williamsburg in April should have the following mandatory rehearsal dates in their calendar. You can also find these dates in your second-semester calendar that were included with your syllabus.
- March 23, March 30, April 4, April 6. All rehearsals are 3:50-5:00 pm
- There is also a mandatory meeting for all travelers and their parents, on Monday, April 4, at 7:30 pm in the band room.
- The end of the 3rd Quarter is March 11th. The last day to turn in late assignments is Sunday, March 6th.
- Please remember the FINAL trip payment for the spring trip was due on February 15th. Send your payment directly to Stamm Travel with your payment sheet!
- If you wish to pay using BCPs, please complete the BCP authorization form so we can transfer your payment. We will send one check to cover all BCP payments each month.
- There still is room for some additional travelers (including parents!) who are welcome to travel as tag-alongs. Please contact Mr. Yost if you would like to join us on the trip and haven’t signed up yet.
