Announcements: Week of 4/21/2021

The last quarter of the school year is off to a great start and the students are starting to work on literature for the spring concert on May 25th. Please continue to turn in your weekly SmartMusic and music theory assignments! They should not take long to complete but are important parts of your development as a musician.

Announcements and reminders for the week:

  • It’s time to place your orders for our amazing Band Memory Book!
    • This hardcover book will contain 80 pages of full-color photos and other memories from throughout the year.
    • Price: $35.00
    • Purchase Deadline: May 4th, 2021 (We will only be placing ONE order. Please don’t miss this deadline!!)
    • There will be a limited supply so make sure that you submit your order before the deadline! Click HERE to go to the Purple Regiment website for more information or to place an order. If you have any questions, please contact Pam Bilton, 803-448-5977 or [email protected].
  • The date for the band awards night has been changed to Thursday, June 3rd at Ebenezer Park. More details will be shared in May, but please be sure to make this change on your calendars as it is different than the date that was listed on the calendar distributed in February. We will start at 6:00 and should be finished by 9:00.
  • The NHS Spring Band Concert is still set for the evening of May 25th. We will begin at 7:00 pm in the courtyard in front of the trojan statue at school.
  • Plans are moving ahead for the 2021 Marching Band show. Once we have a complete list of students who are registered for marching band we will send out detailed information regarding band camp and fall performance dates. We are looking at July 26-30 and August 2-6 for band camps.
  • Please be sure to log in for the May booster meeting on Monday, May 3rd as we will be voting on the booster executive board. The slate at this time is:
    • Kimberly Shaw – President
    • Stephanie Tinker & Ken Nodes – Vice President
    • Mecca Harvey – Treasurer
    • Swonda Dixon – Junior Treasurer
    • Dara Ross – Secretary
