The Concert & Symphonic Bands

The Concert and Symphonic Bands will present their concert on Tuesday, May 1st at 7:30 pm in the Northwestern High School Auditorium and will perform traditional band literature. Senior euphonium soloist, Braden Shaw, will be featured with the Symphonic Band performing “Variations on Annie Laurie” by Arthur Pryor. Also included on the program will be works from “West Side Story” and “Candide” as part of the worldwide celebration of Leonard Bernstein’s 100th birthday. The concert will also include chamber ensembles performing selections that were prepared for the SCBDA Solo and Ensemble Assessments in April.
The NHS Jazz Trio and Big Band
Thursday, May 3, 2018 – 7:30PM
NHS Band Room
The NHS Jazz Bands will present their Spring Jazz Extravaganza on Thursday, May 3rd at 7:30 pm in the Northwestern High School Band Room. The concert will feature both the NHS Jazz Trio and the Northwestern High School Senior Jazz Ensemble with guest soloist Wally West. Mr. West is a world renowned saxophonist from Greensboro, North Carolina and will perform on traditional jazz standards with both the trio and the big band.
Both concerts are free and open to the public.
