THIS WEEKEND – Carolina Crown on the Northwestern Campus

• Carolina Crown is a world-class drum and bugle corps
• They will be rehearsing on our campus this weekend
• If you would like to observe some of their rehearsals, please note the following
  • Wear obvious Northwestern attire so they know you are allowed to be here
  • There is a strict No Recording policy. 
  • You can see the group in F Gym at the following times
    • Saturday, 9 pm
    • Sunday, 12:45 pm

SATURDAY, JANUARY 20 – Region Band Auditions

• Selected students
• Auditions are held at Blythewood High School
• Auditions times have been posted in the NHS Band Room
• Families provide their own transportation to and from the audition

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 31 – All outstanding fees are due

• After this date, outstanding fees will be turned over to the school.
• These fees will remain in place until they are paid. They do not get erased at the end of the school year.
• Unpaid fees will impact a student’s ability to
  • Purchase prom tickets
  • Purchase a parking pass
  • Graduate
  • Transfer

 

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10 – CWEA Show at Northwestern – Volunteers Needed

• We partner with the Carolina Winter Ensemble Association to run this event as a fundraiser for our band program.
• We will need lots of help to run this event.
• Be on the lookout for requests for you to sign up.

 

SATURDAY/SUNDAY, MARCH 9 & 10 – WGI Show at Northwestern – Volunteers Needed

• Like the CWEA Show, we partner with Winter Guard International for this two-day event.
• We stand to make a good bit of money for our students this weekend.
• Plan to sign up for a few shifts when the signups come out.

 

LEVY FUNDRAISER PAYOUT INCREASED

• Each volunteer will earn $100 each time they work an event for the band at Bank Of America Stadium.
• The band’s general fund will also receive a donation each time someone volunteers to work.
• This is a GREAT way to
  • Earn money for your child’s BCPs to help pay for fees and trips
  • Earn money for the band program’s general fund (buses, food, equipment)
• Be on the lookout for signups for spring events.
