Announcements – Week of 11/30/2022

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and that life hasn’t gotten too stressful 9/6as we look forward to Christmas in a few short weeks.  Fortunately, the band schedule will start to slow down, but not this week, as we have a couple of major performances coming up on Friday and Saturday.  Both of these events will have large crowds and will be very congested so it is important that the students are on time and have everything they need for the performances. Information for the week includes:

Friday’s Parade Info
         Date: Friday, December 2, 2022
         Location: Rock Hill
Call Time: 5:30 pm in the Winthrop commuter lot.  (See attached information for map)
Dress: Band uniforms minus helmets and gauntlets.  We will distribute santa hats at the beginning of the parade.

Click HERE to see the detailed agenda. Please note in the information to allow extra time arriving at the drop off location as several streets will be closed and traffic on Cherry Road and Charlotte Avenue will be extremely heavy and slow.

Saturday’s Game Info
         Date: Saturday, December 3, 2022
         Location: Benedict College, Columbia, SC
Call Time: 3:30 pm at Northwestern

Dress: Purple band jackets with jeans and sneakers.

Click HERE to see the detailed agenda.

Important December Dates:

Please be sure the following dates are on your calendar for December:

  • Parent Meeting – Monday, December 5, at 7:00 pm in the band room. We will have important information about the Hawaii trip to share at this time.
  • NHS Band Holiday Concert – Thursday, December 8, at 7:30 pm in the NHS Auditorium. There is no admission charge for the concert, but we will be taking monetary donations for the Rock Hill Toys for Happiness campaign.  Cash donations will certainly be accepted, but if you would like to write a check, please make it payable to the NHS Band Boosters, as we will then write one check from the booster club to the foundation.

Fruit Sale:

The fruit has been ordered, and we have received word that it is tentatively scheduled to arrive on Saturday, December 10th in the morning.  I will be notified next Wednesday or Thursday with a more exact time and will send an announcement once that time is confirmed.

Band Pictures

Hard copies of the picture proofs were passed out to students last week.  If you want to order pictures, you can use the form included with the proofs and mail that to the company, or you can place your order online HERE.

You can also deduct it from your child’s BCP account by filling out the form HERE. Another option is to pay it electronically directly to the school by clicking HERE.

Please let us know if you are any questions or concerns, and thank you again for all you do for our students.
