We want to start this message by using the words from Mr. McGuire’s message over the weekend – Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We appreciate all the support we have received this fall from the students, the parents, and other family members. From providing the food items we requested to driving buses, pulling trailers, helping build props, moving equipment and props at the shows, chaperoning, and all the other things too numerous to list, thank you for serving. While your support means so much to the students now, the spirit of sharing and supportiveness the adults had throughout the season will reflect in these students for years to come. Of course, there are still seven months left in the school year and many more activities on the calendar. They may not be as visible, but they are equally significant. Here is what we have coming up over the next several days:

Dress: Fall uniforms but have warm clothes as we will change out of the uniforms after halftime

Fruit Sale:
The annual fruit sale ends on Friday, and all order forms and money needs to be turned in on Monday, November 7. Please write the total units sold along the bottom of the order and ensure the total due in the bottom right corner matches the money you have collected. You should keep the yellow page of the order form and place the white page and the money you collected in an envelope with the student’s name. Checks should be made payable to NHS Band Boosers. There are brochures, order forms, and envelopes in the band room for students to bring home. If you, or family members and friends, would like to place an order electronically, those sales will continue through Thursday, November 10. Band Pictures
Thursday, November 3 – Individual pictures in uniform with instruments. Since the image is from the waist up, students will NOT need their black shoes and socks. The photographer will be here until 4:00, so that should be plenty of time for middle school students to arrive after school.
Jazz Band Meeting
There will be a short meeting after school Thursday for students interested in participating in the jazz band at Northwestern. Rehearsal dates and times will be announced as well as performance dates. If students can not attend the meeting, they should see Mr. Yost for information.
Indoor Percussion Ensemble
There will be an informational meeting about starting an Indoor Percussion Ensemble for students and parents on Thursday, November 3, at 7:00 pm in the band room. Students should see Mr. Walker if they cannot attend but are interested in participating in this ensemble.
Winter Guard Information
Winter Guard Auditions will be next week on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 to 6:30 in the band room. Students need to have comfortable workout clothes, a water bottle, and a positive attitude. We also encourage everyone to bring a friend!!!!

Booster Parent Meeting & Last Month’s Minutes
November 7 at 7:00 will be our next Parent Meeting. Please read through the following minutes from our October 3, 2022, Parent Meeting so they can be approved at the upcoming meeting.
Region and All-State Jazz Audition Sign-ups
Students may begin signing up for the region band and all-state jazz ensemble auditions. The links below will take you to an information page with dates, audition requirements, cost, etc., and a link to the signup forms. Submissions are due no later than Friday, November 4.

Monthly Band Fee Payments
Remember to make your monthly band fee payment. You can pay with cash, check, or money order, place it in an envelope with your child’s name and the payment, and then have your child drop it by the band office. You can also deduct it from your child’s BCP account by filling out the form HERE. Another option is to pay it electronically directly to the school by clicking HERE.
