Announcements – Week of 9/28/2022

We want to start this update by thanking everyone for helping to make this past Saturday such a wonderful experience for all the participants. Overall, everything went exceptionally well, and everyone I have talked to has had nothing but positive comments about the day. We greatly appreciate all the support from the parents and students volunteering to help wherever needed, with many working all afternoon. We also hope all the parents could see the performance as well. The kids played with more energy and enthusiasm than I have seen all season, and the crowd’s response energized them even more. Thank you again for everything you did to assist on Saturday and throughout the season thus far. You are wonderful!

Thursday’s Football Game (Homecoming & Middle School Band Night)
Our game this week moved to Thursday due to the expected heavy rains anticipated on Friday. Homecoming festivities are moving ahead as planned for that evening, as are our plans to have Middle School Band night. The game starts 30 minutes earlier, at 7:00, so students need to arrive at 5:45 to begin changing into their fall uniform.

Thursday’s Schedule

  • Date: Thursday, September 29
  • Location: RHSD3 Stadium (Cherry Rd)
  • Call Time: 5:45 pm at the stadium
  • Dress: Full Fall Uniform
  • Click HERE to see the full schedule for the game.

Parent Meeting
Join us in the band room for our next band parent meeting on Monday, October 3, at 7:00 pm. We will kick off our annual fruit sale at the meeting, and I will have BandBeat tickets for sale that evening. Tickets purchased in advance are $10.00 each, and the ticket price on the day of the event will be $12.00. There is a limited number, so be sure to attend the meeting as they will be on sale after the meeting until sold out. In addition, this month’s prize drawing is for a Costa Oil car wash kit.

Purple Show Shirts
A handful of Kansas to Oz purple shirts remain for $15. The sizes available are S, M, L, & XL. Contact Heather King to let her know what you need.

Olde English T-Shirts & Programs
In case you missed out on purchasing your Olde English merchandise, we still have several t-shirts and programs in our remaining inventory. The T-shirts are $10, and the programs are $5. Contact Heather King to let her know what you need. T-shirt sizes available include S-4XL.

  • Single serving chips (variety packs)
  • Individually wrapped Little Debbie, Oreos, Nutty Buddy, etc.

Thank you for sending what you can to the Northwestern Band Room this week or next so we can provide snacks for our students.

Really sad to miss this big event but have two other grand dudes in their band concert at Dutchman Creek Middle School—same exact time.

Can't wait!
