Thank you for last week’s fantastic turnout at the camp exhibition and covered-dish dinner. We know the kids were excited about the opportunity to show off how much they had learned, and we hope you had a wonderful experience! Here are some band-related reminders for this week.
We have a rehearsal tomorrow evening, Thursday (8/11), from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Students must attend unless their family notified the band office they would be out of town.
The winds and percussionists (no colorguard) will perform at the teachers’ Back-to-School Rally on Friday, August 12, from noon until about 2:00 pm. Students will wear summer uniforms. Click here for more info.
Wind players (brass & woodwinds) will need folios and lyres for the Back-to-School Rally and football performances. Students may purchase these directly from the band office. For supply prices, click here.
Please submit shoe and glove orders by Friday, August 10 (firm deadline). Remember, percussionists only need to order shoes, and the colorguard members do not need to complete any information on this form.
The first football game will be next Friday evening (August 19) at District 3 Stadium on Cherry Road.

Sign up here if you want to chaperone at the game next week. Individuals interested in chaperoning at this game and future events must have attended a chaperone training session and have a VERIFIED status with Rock Hill Schools.

Season Passes to attend games are available through the NHS Athletic Office.
- Cost: $50.00 for adults, $40.00 for students (band students and chaperones get in free!) Cash or check (payable to Northwestern High School Athletics) are accepted.

- Avoid the line – enter through the pass gate!
On the first day of school, students will enter the school at 8:30 am through the back hall door behind the auditorium. They will drop off their instruments, water jugs, and any other band equipment they need for rehearsal. Directors will assign lockers to students during class time. We will go outside for rehearsal after school and dismiss students at 5:30 pm.
Rehearsals next week will dismiss at 5:30 pm on Monday and Wednesday, at 6:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and when the bell rings at 3:45 pm on Friday. Students from Rawlinson Road and Dutchman Creek will need to arrive as soon as possible after their dismissal. Students from RRMS should plan to walk over, and DCMS students will need to work out carpools as much as possible.
Lastly, we are just over two weeks away from our mattress sale. Our goal for this fundraiser is for each family to find one person that might be interested in purchasing a mattress.
- Please invite your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors to the sale. Remind them to mention your student’s name at the checkout desk so your child gets their cash incentive.
