Announcements: Week of 4/6/2022

There’s only one day left before we depart for Williamsburg! Please review the reminders below to be sure you are prepared for the end of the school year.

Williamsburg Trip Reminders:

  • Report time Friday morning is 7:00 am. Please be sure you arrive on time!
  • If you have a prescription medication you need to bring with you, please give it to Mr. Yost or Ms. Carlson when you arrive Friday morning. The medicine should be clearly marked with your name and dosage instructions. Only bring what you need for four days.

Additional announcements:

  • It’s time to order your band memory book! These memory books are band only yearbooks with over one thousand pictures and memories from this year’s marching band, winterguard, and concert/symphonic band seasons. Orders should be placed by April 11th to ensure that the books are printed and delivered before the end of the school year. Books are $40.00 each, cash or check made payable to Northwestern Band Boosters. CLICK HERE if you would like to place an order!   • The “Come See Me” parade is Thursday, April 21st, and this is a MANDATORY performance for all students enrolled in the band this semester. Call time for the students will be at 5:30 in the parking lot near 135 Oakland Ave. The parade starts at 6:30 and will finish at Fountain Park between 7:00 and 7:15.
  • DATE CHANGE: The Jazz Band concert previously scheduled for Thursday, May 5th has been moved to Tuesday, May 10th at 7:30 pm in the band room. In addition to the NHS Senior Jazz Ensemble performance, the Northwestern, Rawlinson Road & Dutchman Creek Percussion Ensembles will also perform that evening.
  • Solo and Ensemble is Friday, April 22, at Sullivan Middle School. If you have not already paid your Solo & Ensemble registration fee, please submit this payment as soon as possible.
  • Balance information for outstanding marching band and winter guard fees was mailed last week. Please be sure to pay outstanding balances as soon as possible. Contact Mr. Yost or Ms. Carlson if you have any questions or concerns.
  • As we continue to move towards the end of the school year, many deadlines are fast approaching. Please keep your calendar up to date with all band events between now and June! The 2nd-semester calendar is available HERE.
  • We have confirmed that the band will NOT participate in the commencement ceremony on Friday, May 27. Students will not be required to attend this event.

From our talented guard and percussion staff to our amazing middle school directors and high school team, we’re surrounded by people who truly care about helping our students grow and shine.

Summer rehearsals begin Tuesday, July 8 from 9am-12pm, and we couldn’t be more excited to get started! To help prepare us all for the season ahead, we want to introduce you to our incredible instructional staff who make it all possible.

🎚 SOUND ENGINEER: Brandon Usher
Mr. Usher is our sound engineer, working behind the scenes to ensure every solo, ensemble, and impactful moment on the field is heard clearly and powerfully. His expertise helps bring our show to life in the stands and makes sure every detail shines. We’re lucky to have his talents shaping the sound of our season!
