Announcements: Week of 12/15/2021

Thank you all for such a wonderful Holiday Concert last week! I was delighted with the performance, and many audience members have shared with me how much they enjoyed the concert. I also want to thank everyone who contributed generous donations to Toys for Happiness. I learned this week that the United Way had combined the Empty Stocking Fund with Toys for Happiness which WRHI is running. A total of $140.00 was collected, and I know your generosity will make this Christmas more memorable for many families here in Rock Hill.

Additional announcements and reminders include:

  • Region Band Auditions will be held on Saturday, January 8, at Blythewood High School. Audition times are posted in the band room. Students need to make their own travel arrangements as there will not be a bus available for this event. Please contact Mr. Yost if you have any concerns about transportation, and we can help arrange a carpool.
  • We are hosting a guard show again this year on Saturday, January 29. At this time, it looks like we will have 60 units participating, so it will be a full day, and we will need everyone’s help. This event is very similar to Olde English in its run, the volunteers needed, and the amount of money it can raise for the booster club in just one day. Volunteer positions and times will be posted in Charms soon, and we will discuss the event in much more detail at our next booster meeting on January 10.
  • We still have a few boxes of fruit remaining. If you are interested in any of these, please email Mr. Yost or send your payment to school with your child as soon as possible. They include:
      • 1 Pecan & Mandarin gift box – $22.00
      • 2 Navel, Apple, Pear gift boxes – $22.00 each
      • 3 Navel & Marmalade gift boxes – $22.00 each
      • 2 10# Navel & Grapefruit cartons – $28.00 each
      • 1 10# Navel cartons – $28.00 each
      • 1 20# Navel carton – $33.00
  • The deadline for students to submit late performance assessments is this Sunday, December 19!
  • Band exams will be short, individual performances for band staff as follows:
      • Winds will play scales for Mr. Yost & Ms. Carlson
      • Percussion will play rudiments for Mr. Walker
      • Guard will demonstrate dance & equipment techniques for Mr. Wade
  • Please remember the next payment for the spring trip is due on December 15. Send your payment directly to Stamm Travel with your payment sheet!
    • If you wish to pay using BCPs, please indicate this on the payment form you send to Stamm, and complete the BCP authorization form to transfer your payment. We will send one check to cover all BCP payments each month.

Please be sure to contact us if you have any questions or concerns, and thank you again for all you do for our program!
