Announcements: Week of 9/22/2021

I want to start today by thanking all of you for a great day this past Saturday. I was very pleased with how everything went and especially pleased with the students’ solid performance despite the heat and the long day. We received many compliments about their work to date and are excited about their potential as we go through the remainder of the season. There was also an article in The Herald last week about the area high school bands, including a picture of our sousaphone section. You can see the article here.

This weekend we host the Olde English Festival of Bands at District 3 Stadium. EVERY parent must sign up for a volunteer shift through Charms. This show has been a success for the last 38 years, primarily because of the parent volunteers. In addition, the funds we receive from this event are a big reason why our band fees are 50% less than many of the other programs in the area. Please do your part so we can keep our fees low and provide a wonderful experience for students in the future!

Please be sure to read the information as it comes in and remember the updates are also posted on the website if you can’t find the email later in the week.

Updates for this week:

  • Please remember to sign up for a time slot to volunteer at the Olde English Tournament of Bands on Saturday! As mentioned above, we need an adult from every family to volunteer for a shift!
