Good morning everyone!
I hope this message finds everyone doing well and enjoying the last few days before the start of another school year. We will send weekly updates throughout the school year as reminders for students, and to keep parents updated on the information we discuss in class. These messages are also posted to the band’s website. We also strongly encourage parents to attend monthly booster meetings where we will discuss these topics in more detail and have time for questions. Booster meetings are almost always less than an hour and are open to all band and colorguard parents. Please make plans to attend each month either in person or on zoom. The next meeting is Tuesday, September 7 at 7:00 pm.
Updates for this week:
- Rehearsal tonight from 6-8 pm. Students should report straight to the band field with their music, instruments, and drill sheets
- Every student needs to bring their own water bottle to every rehearsal. We will have water available at the field to refill as needed
- We will enforce all district COVID protocols.
- This includes students staying at home if they test positive or are identified as close contact with someone who has tested positive. We know everyone wants to stay safe and return to normal as soon as possible, and we are taking every precaution we can to keep everyone healthy!
- Additionally, students are strongly encouraged to wear a mask while inside
- Students WILL need instruments, folios, and lyres on Monday
- We will discuss morning procedures and assign lockers during class on Monday
- The class will be dismissed at the bell on Monday and will follow a normal schedule for the rest of the week
- Tuesday – dismissal at the 3:37 pm bell, evening rehearsal from 6-9 pm
- Wednesday – dismissal at 4:15 pm
- Thursday – dismissal at 5:00 pm
- Friday – dismissal at the 3:37 pm bell
- Our first performance is on Saturday, August 21 at District 3 Stadium
- A detailed gameday schedule will be sent out next week
- Don’t forget about the mattress sale on Saturday, August 28th in the band room!
- We hope each band family will find someone who is on the market for a mattress to stop by the band room and see what we have to offer
- This is a great opportunity to raise money for student BCP accounts and the booster club!
- Shoe and Glove orders are due by Friday, August 20th. Please be sure to get these submitted ASAP!
