Hello, Purple Regiment!

We’re so excited to see you all tomorrow morning! Please take a look at the reminders below to be sure you’re prepared to succeed over the next two weeks.

  1. Everyone will meet in the band room at 8am. Make sure you arrive at school with enough time to be settled before the meeting starts.
  2. Go drink water. Right now. It is imperitive that you remain hydrated throughout the marching band season. There will be water coolers at the field, so bring a water bottle with you to refill as needed during all rehearsals.
  3. For Pre-Camp (July 26-30) you are responsible for providing your own lunch and dinner. Consider what food you eat and how that will impact your energy and ability to perform while outside in the sun!
  4. Go find your instrument and check to be sure you have your mouthpiece, reed, lyre/flipfolder, and anything else you need to play. If you do not have a lyre or flipfolder we have plenty at school and will distribute them as needed tomorrow.
  5. ALL parents and students are required to attend the meeting in the band room on Thursday, July 29th at 8pm. It is very important that you attend so we can update you on our plans and procedures for the year.
  6. We will use Remind to communicate important information via text. Please sign up for the Purple Regiment class by clicking here, or by texting @NWHSPR2021 to 81010.
  7. PARENTS, if you are interested in volunteering during band came, use the links below to sign-up, per day.

Pre-Camp Schedule (July 26-30)

8:00 – 9:45am All will meet in the band room to start and then move to the following locations

  • Winds – Outside, Marching basics
  • Guard – F gym
  • Battery – Stage
  • Front Ensemble – Strings Room

9:45 – 10:00am water break

10:00am – 12:00pm Marching basics.

12:00 – 1:30pm Lunch break (You are welcome to bring your lunch from home and stay at school during this break)

1:30 – 3:00pm Sectionals with staff. (Move chairs and or stands to your location the Monday. Section leaders should return from lunch early enough to get this organized before rehearsal)

  • Flute  – D 104 (Ms. Altman’s Room)
  • Clarinet  – D 101(Ms Zellmer’s Room)
  • Saxes  – D102 (Ms. Queen’s Room)
  • Trumpet – D-105 (Ms. Furiate’s Room)
  • Horns – Ensemble room
  • Low Brass – Band room
  • Guard – F gym
  • Battery – Auditorium
  • Front Ensemble – Strings Room

3:15 – 4:00pm Full ensemble music – Band Room

4:00 – 6:00 Dinner Break Wednesday and Thursday ONLY

6:00 – 8:00 Outside rehearsal Wednesday ONLY

6:00 to 7:00 Outside rehearsal Thursday ONLY

7:00 – 8:00 Mandatory parent/student meeting in band room  Thursday ONLY

 

There are no afternoon or evening rehearsal on Friday, we will dismiss at 12pm.
