Announcements – Week of 3/10

Please see below for a few reminders about your student’s band class in the coming weeks!

  • Any parent interested in serving on the booster club’s executive board, please contact Mr. Yost or Todd Tucker as soon as possible. The slate of officers for next year will be presented at the next booster meeting on March 29.
  • Please pay for solo and ensemble fees as soon as possible. The cost is $20 for solos and $4/person for second ensemble registrations. You can pay with BCPs, check (made out to NHS Band Boosters), or cash.
  • The annual Cookie Dough Sale will start next week. We will have brochures and order forms to distribute, including information about the online sale you can forward to family and friends. This could be a huge fundraising event for your student to raise money towards their BCP balance!
  • Senior parents, please be sure to follow up with the request for baby pictures that we included last week and the request from the membership committee that we sent out yesterday. Please contact Lisa Smith ([email protected]) or Pam Bilton ([email protected]) if you are interested in helping with Senior/Awards Night.
  • We will return to 5-day face-to-face instruction on March 22nd. This won’t change our daily procedures in band class, students will still be physically distanced with masks and bell covers on throughout the entire class period. We are working on full ensemble music to submit for a virtual concert band assessment, and small ensemble material for solo & ensemble assessments.
    • After spring break we will begin preparing for a spring concert which will take place outdoors at a site to be determined
    • Until the 22nd it is still important for students to login to Zoom on their remote learning days! If you do not login to Zoom, or you are not visible on screen during the Zoom meeting, you will be marked absent.
    • Please continue to check Canvas for information your assignments! If you are missing assignments, you can still turn them in for credit!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone daily and starting to get back into a normal schedule. We appreciate your support!

Really sad to miss this big event but have two other grand dudes in their band concert at Dutchman Creek Middle School—same exact time.

Can't wait!
