Announcements: Week of 10/28

The following are a few announcements for the week of 10/28/2019.

  • Winds will need folios, lyres, and marching instruments in class for the remainder of the week. Next week we will transition to a concert band setting. Students that have concert instruments like tubas and euphoniums at home will need to bring them to school starting next week!
  • There will be an informational meeting for any student interested in participating in the NHS Jazz Band this Thursday directly after-school.
  • FRIDAY GAME INFO: Call Time is 7 PM at District 3 (VISITOR SIDE).
    • The dress is Jeans, Sneakers, Purple Show Shirt (and NHS hoodie, if you might need one)
    • We are transporting sousaphones and battery percussion using the white covered trailer.
    • Optional for front ensemble and color guard. Required for winds and battery percussion.
  • Students selected to perform at the Winthrop Invitational Band Clinic need to fill out the required paperwork and submit them directly to Winthrop University by Friday, November 4, 2019.
  • Students interested in performing at Lakewood Baptist Church for a Veteran’s Day tribute should see Mr. Yost for more information. The performance is on the morning of November 10, 2019.
  • The last day to sign up for region band auditions or all-state jazz auditions is THIS FRIDAY. Use the links below to sign up.
  • Winterguard Auditions are next week, November 4-7 after-school in the band room.

We have two ongoing Fundraisers – FRUIT and PANCAKE BREAKFAST

    • Pancake Ticket Requests are due online and payments to the Purple Box by Friday, November 4, 2019. Click Here for information about the pancake fundraiser at FATZ Cafe.
    • Fruit Orders and payments are due to the Purple Box by November 8, 2019. Click Here for information about the annual fruit sale.

Over the past few days, you’ve gotten to know the incredible team of educators who will lead us through the 2025 season. From our talented guard and percussion staff to our amazing middle school directors and high school team, we’re surrounded by people who truly care about helping our students grow and shine.

Summer rehearsals begin Tuesday, July 8 from 9am-12pm, and we couldn’t be more excited to get started! To help prepare us all for the season ahead, we want to introduce you to our incredible instructional staff who make it all possible.

🎚 SOUND ENGINEER: Brandon Usher
Mr. Usher is our sound engineer, working behind the scenes to ensure every solo, ensemble, and impactful moment on the field is heard clearly and powerfully. His expertise helps bring our show to life in the stands and makes sure every detail shines. We’re lucky to have his talents shaping the sound of our season!
