Announcements: Week of 10/1/2018

The following are some important announcements concerning the NHS Band for the week of 10/1/2018.

This Tuesday’s evening rehearsal (6-9) is at the school. We are in need of some additional assistance tonight in the band room as we work to finish the prop construction while the band rehearses at the field. If you could lend a hand, we could really use the help. A HUGE shoutout of thanks to the team of band dads and moms who’ve volunteered tons of hours to bring these arches to life!!!

We still have additional BandBEAT tickets available for purchase in the band office. Please contact Mr. Yost if you would like purchase these (discounted from ticket prices at the gate).

We are taking a volunteer pep band to the Clover Game this Friday. Sign-ups for students are posted in the band room. Call time for students participating is 6:00PM in the band room. Approximate ETA back at NHS will be 11:00PM. Purple shirt and jeans is the dress for those participating.

SATURDAY IS BandBEATClick Here to view the BandBEAT Itinerary for students. Call Time is 12PM at the band field. Our performance time at District 3 Stadium is 6:15PM. Students should be back at NHS at approximately 9:15PM. Dress for this performance will be full uniform. Detailed info is available on the itinerary. Click Here for a Performance Schedule for the event.

Looking ahead…

October 12 is our next home game at RHSD3 Stadium. This event is alumni night, middle school band night, and homecoming! The more the merrier!!!

We will take formal band pictures on November 1, 2018 during 4th block. There is no requirement to purchase. We will also take group and section shots as well.

The Christmasville Parade is November 30, 2018… NOT December 7th as previously announced. For an updated schedule for the fall, please click here.

Lastly, as we enter our competitions over the next few weeks – I wanted to take a moment to tell you HOW AMAZING our NHS band students are! Yes, we have more refining to do as we work towards our performance goals; however, I try to remind myself of how blessed we are to work with such awesome students each day. Parents, please continue to be an encouragement to them. I am very proud of their efforts thus far this season and am excited to watch and coach them in realizing their full potential over the remaining several weeks of marching season.

Really sad to miss this big event but have two other grand dudes in their band concert at Dutchman Creek Middle School—same exact time.

Can't wait!
