General Information

The role of the NHS Band Booster Club is to support all students who choose to participate in the band program at Northwestern High School. Over the years, our booster organization has done an excellent job making sure all students have the opportunity to participate in the NHS Purple Regiment. The boosters are an incorporated, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission and vision is to provide necessary manpower and financial support to the Northwestern High School Bands to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in band.


The Northwestern High School Band Booster Club meets the first Monday night of each month (except June & July) at 7PM in the band room to discuss band and color guard activities – and most importantly how the boosters can support these endeavors. Most parents find it extremely helpful and informative to attend these meetings! Even the most conscientious student can forget to pass on certain information to their parents.

Executive Board

An Executive Board guides the booster activities and consists of officers and committee chairpersons. The booster members elect officers each May. Officers and committee chairpersons serve from July 1-June 30, with the exception of treasurer (a two year commitment). The positions of band officers are: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Booster committees exist to ensure the various activities of the band and boosters are properly coordinated and executed. Booster members are encouraged to participate in committees.


The NHS Band Boosters work tirelessly to provide opportunities for all members and their family members to raise money for band. These fundraising events are made available to parents and students to raise funds for their student’s individual band credit point (BCP) accounts to help defer the costs of participation in the band program. No individual is forced to work a fundraiser; however, all students are highly encouraged to participate in the numerous opportunities to raise money for themselves and the band!

Example fundraisers throughout the year have included working Knights Baseball Game Concessions, Carolina Panther Football Game Concessions, Lowes Motor Speedway Concessions, selling fruit, pizzas, popcorn, raffle tickets, cookie dough, mattresses, barbecue, and more! Please watch for communications from the booster club about upcoming fundraisers.
