I hope this message finds everyone doing well, and that the first quarter of the school year has gone well. I know it has been hectic trying to get back into a more traditional routine, but it has been nice to see a return to something closer to what we consider “normal”. We will perform again this Saturday at Blythewood High School. A parent information sheet is attached to this message that includes the school address, parking information, and how to purchase tickets online. This is a well-run show with nice facilities and an easy drive down I-77. It sounds like it will be a very pleasant day and a nice evening, so I hope you are able to join us. Please remember, your child may ride home with you after the show, but you must complete a travel waiver and give it to your child’s bus chaperone before you leave. Updates for this week:

• The Town of Blythewood Tournament of Bands is this Saturday. A detailed itinerary is available by clicking here. Please note that rehearsal starts at school at 10:00 am!!
• Deposits for the spring band trip are due Friday, October 15th. The trip is April 8-11 and will include visits to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens amusement park, and several other historic and educational locations throughout the weekend. Detailed information is available in the band room or on the website HERE.
• Wind & percussion students will wear white t-shirts and black marching shoes for rehearsal next Tuesday, October 19. Guard members will wear a purple shirt.
• Furman University is hosting a high school band day on November 13th. A detailed flyer is available. Please contact Ms. Carlson with any questions!
• The fruit sale has started. Information about the sale and how to order online is available by clicking HERE. Brochures and order forms are also available in the band room. All money and orders are due no later than Friday, November 5th
• It is time to start thinking about region band auditions. Even though the actual auditions are not until January 8th, the registration deadline is coming up next month. The registration fee is $12.00 and the registration form can be accessed by clicking HERE. This form must be submitted no later than Monday, November 8th.
